Jamali Kamali Mosque


Jamali Kamali Mosque, located near Qutb Minar , is believed to be the most haunted place in Delhi. Many people claimed that they have seen apparitions peeking behind a pillar, while others told they were slapped by an invisible person. Also, there are some weird sounds heard by many people, that’s why they prefer to stay away from the mosque during nighttime.

Agrasen ki Baoli


Agrasen ki Baoli located near Connaught Place is also included in the list of haunted places. It is a quiet place though in between huge traffic area of Delhi. Many visitors have experienced some paranormal activities at this place. Also, you can feel that the place is comparatively cooler than the outside atmosphere of Delhi, which is also a sign that the place is haunted.

Delhi Cantonment


Though the area is full of traffic and is much safer in the daytime many passersby shared their experiences when they were at the place during nighttime. Some claimed that a woman in a white saree asks for a lift from them and when they pass through without helping she followed them at the same speed as that of their car.

Lothian Cemetery


It is one of the oldest cemeteries located on Lothian Road near Kashmiri Gate, Old Delhi. The cemetery is rumored to be haunted by the ghost of Sir Nicholas. Sir Nicholas was a British officer who fell in love with an Indian lady and committed suicide when was unable to marry her. It is believed that his ghost still roams in the graveyard crying out the name of the woman he loved.

Bhuli Bhatiyari Ka Mahal


Bhuli Bhatiyari Ka Mahal is one of the most haunted places in Delhi. It is situated near a busy market in Karol Bagh where a silent road is connected with the Southern Ridge of Delhi. It is believed to be built by Feroz Shah Tuglaq as a hunting lodge. The place is quite interesting if visited in the daytime but is believed to become haunted when the night falls. Also, the entrance to the place is strictly prohibited during nighttime.

Feroz Shah Kotla Fort
The fort of Feroz Shah Kotla was the residence of Feroz Shah Tughlq. Kotla means fortress if you are confused with the name. This fort is located between Old and New Delhi. There are rumors that many djinns roam in the fort and some people also visit the place to get blessings. You can also see some groups of people performing exorcisms at the place. The fort was also featured in the book “City of Djinns” written by William Dalrymple.

Sanjay Van
Sanjay Van is a forest area located close to the Vasant Kunj and Mehrauli areas of South Delhi. Many people visit here to breathe some fresh air and see some beautiful birds which are now absent in the busy traffic area of Delhi. We have heard many tales of paranormal activities in forest areas and Sanjay Van is no exception. Many visitors claimed that they heard cries and laughter though there was no one around. Many claimed that they have seen an apparition of a woman in a white saree.

Khooni Darwaza
Khooni Darwaza is a gate situated on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg close to Delhi Gate. The gate was constructed by Sher Shah Suri. The gate was named after three Mughal princes Mirza Mughal and Mirza Khizr Sultan who were Bahadur Shah Zafar’s son and his grandson Mirza Aby Bakht who was shot by a British officer following the 1857 revolt. Also, two sons of Abdul Rahim Khan were executed at this gate on the order of Jahangir. Aurangzeb also displayed Dara Shikoh’s head at the gate after defeating him. As the gate has several bloodsheds, it is believed to be haunted by numerous ghosts.

Chor Minar
Chor Minar was made on the order of Alauddin Kaliji in the 13th century. It is located in the Hauz Khas area of New Delhi. The minaret has 225 holes which were used to behead the thieves during the Khaliji rule. Historians also believed that Khalji executed about 8000 Mongol people at the place and their heads were displayed at the place. You can imagine how scary was the scenario at the time. The place is still believed to be haunted by the ghosts of those who were executed at the place.
