Jerry Adler is not only film or television actor but also an American theater director, a production supervisor who was born on February 4, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York. His father and mother (Pauline and Philip Adler) is a general manager of the group theater. He was best known for some of the roles like as Howard Lyman on The Good Wife, and Herman "Hesh" Rabkin on The Sopranos.

In 1951 he starts his career as a stage manager. Before becoming the production supervisor of 6 Rms Riv Vu, Annie, I Remember Mama, The Apple Tree, and Dear World, he works on such productions like My Fair Lady and of Thee, I Sing.

As an actor the best roles he has done are Mr. Wicker in Mad About You, Howard Lyman in The Good Wife, Herman "Hesh" Rabkin in The Sopranos and Lt. Al Teischler in Hudson Street. On Northern Exposure as Alan Schulman, Joel Fleischman's old neighborhood rabbi seen in visions he has appeared thrice. He gave his starred guest appearance in the season 4 of 'Til Death and Eddie's father Al in season 3. He has made 10 appearances in the television series Mad About You as a Sgt. Panino / Mr. Wicker.
