About Lindsay Davenport
Lindsay Davenport is an American tennis player who on eight different occasions was ranked at world's no. 1 player for 98 weeks. In doubles, she was also at no. 1 position. In singles she was the winner of 55 WTA Tour singles titles, three Grand Slam titles he WTA Championships and a gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. In doubles won 38 WTA Tour doubles titles, three Grand Slam titles, and three WTA Championships. After the two years of his first professional-level match, she officially became the professional player.
Early Life of Lindsay Davenport
She was born on June 8, 1976, at Palos Verdes, California. Her parents Ann Davenport was the resident of the Southern California Volleyball Association and Wink Davenport was the member of the U.S. volleyball team at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. She had two older sisters Leiann and Shannon who play volleyball. In Palos Verdes Peninsula, California she studied at Chadwick School. Her family moved to Murrieta, California when she was 16 years and there she attended the Murrieta Valley High School. At the junior level, she was very excellent.
Career of Lindsay Davenport
She entered in Brisbane, Australia after winning her first professional match. After defeating no. 5 Mary Joe Fernandez, she reached her first Grand Slam quarterfinal at Australian Open but loses the match in quarterfinals to top-ranked Steffi Graf. Got the title in Lucerne after reaching the semifinals at Indian Wells, California, and Miami. With Lisa Raymond, she won Indian Wells and with her reached to the French Open doubles final. In the starting of 1995, she reached the finals of the tournament in Sydney where she lost the game.
