Career of David Wright

He started playing professionally when he was selected by the Mets in the 2001 MLB draft. He played his first major league in July 2004 starting at the third base against the Montreal Expos. At the age of 22, his score was 160 games, 27 home runs, 99 scores, and 42 doubles. He was voted "This Year in Baseball Play of the Year" in 2005. He became captain of the Mets in March of 2013. He announced his retirement as an active player in 2018 due to several injuries.
