- Her father was a judge so along with him she also got interested in law. At very young age, she read the law books and debate about the law with the clerks. Later she assumes through a law that the married women don't have any rights after marriage no jobs, no income which helps her to find the right path of her life and change these things.
- With the abolitionist movement, she started her career as the activist. She was active in the anti-slavery and fights for it.
- She donated her brain to the Cornell University for study because at that time it was believed that the men's brain made them smarter than women naturally, So to study that her fellow activist want her brain to study and she agreed but after her death her family member refused to donate her brain.
- She was the first women who were involved with the congress. She receives total 24 seats which were ever happened for a female politician.
