- She was very religious from very young age and joined the Loreto abbey in Ireland as a nun when she was just 16 and she got a name of Sister Teresa after 2 years.
- She became the teacher of convent school when she moved to Calcutta 1929 and became the headmistress of the same school after 15 years. After leaving her home she never saw her mother and sister ever again.
- In 1951 the Indian government granted her citizenship.
- Teresa opened her first home in 1952 and opened her mobile leprosy clinic in 1957
- For the world's destitute she was awarded by Nobel Prize in 1979 and she said 'I am unworthy'.
- What she received is said to be 'call within a call' and she said that Jesus told her that to help slim people, poor people of Calcutta she abandons her teaching.
- In 1950 she founded the Missionaries of Charity after 4 years a religious congregation in which over 4,500 sisters and working in over 133 countries.
- In starting when she was teaching poor people, she did not have any type of accessories on which she can teach them so she used the technique of writing on dirt with wood through which those children can understand.
- When she start helping the poor people of Calcutta, she has no money and to raise the money she used to beg herself.
- In her lifetime she received more than 133 honor awards like Ramon Magsaysay Peace Prize in 1962 and so on.
