Career of Dominique de Villepin

His political career started in the 1980s when he was appointed as one of the advisers on foreign policy. He became chief of staff of the Foreign Minister in 1993. He became the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2002. Two years later, he was given the responsibilities of interior minister. He was appointed as the Prime Minister of France in May 2005. He resigned from the post in May 2007.
