- In his starting years, his interest was
towards the mechanical things after seeing his neighbors working with the cars and farm machines but one day at the age of three when he went to Wylie Pitman's Red Wing Cafe and listened to Pitman playing Boogie Woogie on an old piano, his interest in music start growing.
- He started learning piano by the Pitman and he and his family also live at Pitman's Red Wing Cafe when they were financially week. When he was age 3 or 4 his eyesight becomes week and at the age of seven, he totally lost his eyesight.
- He was expelled from the school because he played a prank on a teacher and after leaving a school with his mother's friend he moved to Jacksonville where for 1 year he played piano in the band at Ritz Theatre in LaVilla in which he earns $4 a night.
- He is the founder of the 'Ray Charles Foundation' whose aim is to support institutions or organization financially in research of hearing disorders.
