Career of Kishore Kumar
He started his career as a chorus singer at Bombay Talkies. His first acting debut was in film Shikari in which his brother Ashok played the lead. He sang for many famous actors like Dev Anand, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna. His songs like Roop Tera Mastana, O Manjhi Re, Hum Bewafa Harghiz are remembered even today.

Madhya Pradesh government started the Kishore Kumar Award to honor him his contribution to the singing Industry.
- He was a die-heart fan of KL Saigal, Tagore, and the Hollywood singer-actor Danny Kaye. He had portraits of all the three which was hung at his bungalow Gaurikunj. It was assumed that he used to start his day with a bow down in front of their portraits.
- He was maternal uncle of famous composer Bappi Lahiri.
- Did Kishore Kumar takes alcohol? No. He was a teetotaller and believed that alcohol and Tabacco is a poison for a singer. He also avoids parties to stay away from the alcohol.

- He was considered for the iconic movie Anand but later on, the film was made with Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan as the lead. He lost the opportunity as the director Hrishikesh Mukherjee was driven away by his gatekeeper.

- When he opposed Indira Gandhi's 20-point programme he was banned from AIR and Vividh Bharti for a period of 1975-77.

- He was very particular about his black overcoat and avoid to take off the coat as he was worried about his scrawny physique.
- He was stage shy and run away if he was invited to sing at any music concert.
- Once a director sued him for not following his instruction. He took it too seriously and decided to follow the instruction of directors. Once he had to drive a car in a scene and he kept driving untill he reached Panvel as the director forgot to say 'cut'. Interesting!
- His soul was attached to his house in Madhya Pradesh and it was his last wish that after his death his body is taken to Khandwa and cremated outside his old bungalow and his family fulfilled his wish.
