Career of Billy Joel

He was taking piano lessons at a very young age and decided to make a career in music inspired by The Beatles on "The Ed Sullivan Show". He joined the Echoes and started recording in 1965. He signed with the record company Family Productions and his debut album with the company was "Cold Spring Harbor". In 1972, he signed a contract with Columbia Records and his first album with them was "Piano Man".
