Jiban's professional singing career started in 1992. His debut Assamese album titled Anamika released in 1992. His first first bihu album Ujan Piriti, released in 1995 was a huge hit. The same year he made his Bollywood debut with his first Indipop solo album Chandni Raat. He got wide recognition after winning Seuji-Seuji Award in 2017.
