Lois nettleton was an incredible talent. There was nothing she could not conquer. I’ve seen nearly all of her work but what stands out is her stage work. She was the type of actor that could change her body right before your eyes She did it in Street Car as Blanche. As the the character got progressively madder and madder Lois body began to diminish. Her gift was to encompass the total character.Tennessee Williams himself stated she was his favorite Blanche even though in the beginning he had doubts. In the beginning she was often portrayed as a plain looking woman but in reality she was gorgeous with bright blue green eyes and and a wide smile. She was humble and lived for her craft but there was a sadness about her but she never let it define her.Lois Nettleton will always be one of my favorite actors and yes right up there with Bette and Norma
