She started her career with a television commercial when she was 16 following which she played a small role in the television film "A Pattern of Roses". She rose to prominence with the titular character in the film "Lady Jane". She appeared in the film like Fight Club, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, and more. She played the character of Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter series.
