She started her singing career when she was fifteen and joined the Primettes. In the 1960s the group was allowed to record their own songs at Hitsville's studio. Gordy joined the group and the name of the group changed to "Supremes". Her first solo was released in 1970 including her signature songs "Reach Out and Touch (Somebody's Hand)". In 1980, she released "Diana". She also appeared in the films like Lady Sings the Blues, Mahogany, and more.
