After a screen test, he got the role of Detective Carl Spencer in thirteen episode of popular TV show Manhunt. His first film break was a small role as Todd Anderson in Walk on the Wild Side. But he changed his name back to Todd Armstrong in his next film Five Finger Exercise. He got his first lead role in the film Jason and the Argonauts which was based on a Greek poem Argonautica. He had worked in many films including Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round, Scalplock and also worked in famous television shows like Gunsmoke as John Wing, Hawaii Five-O as Curt Anderson.
