Shah Rukh Khan is also known as Badshah Khan or King Khan of Hindi Cinema. He had also worked in television and as a producer. He is also known for his dialogue "I love you, K-k-k-Kiran" from the film "Darr".

He lived in rented apartments in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. He belongs to a middle-class family. His father was a businessman and also owns a restaurant. He was a student at St. Columba's School and also received the Sword of Honour in his school. He joined Hansraj College for bachelor's degree in Economics and side by side joins Delhi's Theatre Action Group (TAG). He joined Jamia Millia Islamia to earn a master's degree in Mass Communications but dropped for an acting career.

He also hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati when Amitabh Bachchan was not well and after one year he hosted a game show Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? He performed in Imagine TV's Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout.

Films

He worked with Divya Bharti in two films Dil Aashna Hai and Deewana. Deewana was hit in box office. After that, he performed in Chamatkar, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. He also played negative characters in films like Darr, Baazigar and also in Anjaam. His excellent performance in these films gave his career such a height that he never have to look back. After working in Baazigar with Kajol he appeared with her in many films.

In 1995, he had a starring role in seven films including Karan Arjun and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. His film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was super hit. In 2003 he had a starring role in Kal Ho Naa Ho. His film Main Hoon Na was the highest earning film of 2004 in India. His next film Veer-Zaara was also based on India-Pakistan relations and plays the role of a NASA scientist in Swades. He had a starring role in Amol Palekar's Paheli. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna in 2006. His film Don was a remake of 1978 film which was performed by Amitabh Bachchan. He was a hockey coach in Chak De! India.
In Om Shanti Om, he had a starring role with Arjun Rampal, Deepika Padukone, and Shreyas Talpade. He appears in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in 2008. In 2010, he worked in My Name Is Khan which was based on 9/11 attack. He had a starring role in science fiction film Ra.One in 2011 and also Don 2, a sequel to Don was released in the same year. In 2012 he appeared in Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
His film Chennai Express directed by Rohit Shetty in 2013 breaks many box office records. In 2014, he appears in Happy New Year. Dilwale in 2015. And in the next year, he appeared in Maneesh Sharma's thriller Fan and also in Dear Zindagi. Recently, he appeared in Raees.

Stage

He has given many stage performances. In 1997, he performed in Asha Bhosle's Moments in Time concert in Malaysia and also in The Awesome Foursome world tour across the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. Film production

He became the founding member of partnership Dreamz Unlimited and co-produced three films from 1999 to 2003. But the firm got dissolved after some losses than he and his wife Gauri restructured the company as Red Chillies Entertainment. In 2015, he produced nine films.

Singer

He had sung the song "Apun Bola Tu Meri Laila" in Josh in 2000. Also sang in films Don (2006) and Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012). Also participated in lyrics composition for the film Always Kabhi Kabhi which was his own production.

In the following year, he won the same title with Aishwarya Rai and also Best Actor both for the film Devdas. In 2005, Best Actor and Jodi No. 1 share with Preity Zinta for the film Veer Zaara. He won Jodi No 1 for the two consecutive years 2007 and 2008 for the films Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Om Shanti Om also won the best actor for the film Chak De India in 2008. He won Zee Cine Awards for the two consecutive years for the films Dil To Pagal Hai and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998 and 1999. In 2003, he won this award for Best Actor in the film Devdas and in the following, he won Superstar of the Year - Male for Chalte Chalte & Kal Ho Naa Ho. In 2005 for the film Veer Zaara. He won Fun Cinema Entertainer Of The Year for the film Don in 2007. In the next year, he won Best Actor for the film Chak De India. He won Zee Icon Award for the film Om Shanti Om in 2008. In 2011, he won Best Actor for My Name Is Khan. In the next year, he won Best Actor Critics for Don 2. He won International Icon Male award in 2013 for the film Jab Tak Hai Jaan and in the next year, he won the best actor for Chennai Express.

He won Guild Awards for best actor for his excellent performances in the films Kal Ho Naa Ho, Swades, Chak De India, and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. He won Entertainer of the Year for My Name is Khan and same title in the next year for the film Don 2 and also in 2014 for Chennai Express.

He won Stardust Awards for four consecutive years that is 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 for the films Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Chennai Express, Happy New Year, and Fan.

BIG Star Entertainment Awards

He won Film Actor of Decade in 2010. Most Entertaining Actor in a Romantic Role and Jodi of the year for Jab Tak Hai Jaan in 2012. Entertainer Of The Year and Jodi of the year for Chennai Express in 2013. In following year, he won Most Entertaining actor of the year for Happy New Year. He also won other awards such as Bollywood Movie Awards, Global Indian Film Awards, Sansui Viewer's Choice Awards, Star's Sabsey Favourite Kaun Awards and much more for his wonderful performances time to time. And the last but not least he received Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2005.

He started a production company called Dreamz Unlimited in 1999 and his film Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani which was his own production was a commercial failure as it was released just one week after the release of Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, starring Hrithik Roshan. Some critics said that a newcomer faded the image of King Khan. His company's production Ashoka was also a box office failure. Because of many losses he had suffered he decided to close srkworld.com which he started along with Dreamz Unlimited.
He also suffered a spinal injury when he was performing a stunt in Krishna Vamsi's Shakti: The Power. This caused him severe pain and had to go to London for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion surgery at Wellington Hospital.
He was banned by Mumbai Cricket Association from appearing in Wankhede Stadium for five years as he was arguing with security guards and officials after a match between KKR and The Mumbai Indians. However, he apologized for his behavior later on.
