Salman Khan is a very famous actor in Indian film industry. He was a student at St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai. Also attended The Scindia School, Gwalior and St. Xavier' s College in Mumbai before dropping to pursue an acting career.

Films

His first break was in the movie Biwi Ho To Aisi with a small role, in the movie he was a brother-in-law of the lead actress Rekha and his voice was dubbed. His appearance in Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989 gave a huge rise in his career and this film was also dubbed in many languages like English, Spanish etc. This led to series of hits like Baaghi: A Rebel for Love and some moderately successful films like Patthar Ke Phool, Sanam Bewafa, and Kurbaan in 1991 in the same year he had also worked in Love triangle film Saajan. In 1994, he co-starred with Aamir Khan in Rajkumar Santoshi's Andaz Apna Apna. He worked again with director Sooraj Barjatya in the film Hum Aapke Hain Koun with the actress Madhuri Dixit. This film becomes one of Bollywood's highest-grossing films ever and also the fourth-highest earner of all time. In 1995, he had co-starred with Shahrukh Khan in Rakesh Roshan's Karan Arjun. His film Khamoshi: The Musical was a box office failure an uncredited part in Jeet. His two films were released in 1997, Judwaa and Auzaar. In 1998, his five films were released Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai. He had a small but unforgettable role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
He had a starring role in three films in 1999 which were Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United, Biwi No.1, and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. And his films Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega and Chori Chori Chupke Chupke were released in 2000 and his film Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam was released in 2002. Tere Naam in 2003, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi in 2004 and No Entry in 2005. In 2007, he appeared in Salaam E Ishq and also appeared in a Hollywood movie, Marigold: An Adventure in India. In 2009, he worked in Wanted and there is a drastic change in him and also appeared in Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna and London Dreams. He puts a life in his character Chulbul Pandey in his film Dabangg was released on 10 September 2010. He has been working in various films up to now and his latest release Tiger Zinda Hai is a sequel to his old film Ek Tha Tiger.

Television

He was a host of the game show 10 Ka Dum which was telecast on Sony TV. He has hosted Bigg Boss 4 which got highest TRP than any other reality show. Due to its huge success, he had hosted season 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and is hosting in season 11.

Commercials

He had worked in various commercials of soft drinks like Campa Cola, Limca Soft drink and signed for Thums Up in 2002. In December 2010, he became the brand ambassador of Mountain Dew and back to Thums Up now. He is a brand ambassador and also a shareholder of Yatra.com. He had worked in History Channel and a brand ambassador for Suzuki motorcycles. He had worked in commercials for Red Tape Shoes and Relaxo Hawaii. And promoted chewing gum Chlormint also promoted a jewelry brand Sangini with Kareena Kapoor. He had modeled for Dixcy Scott and tablet BlackBerry Playbook, Britannia's Tiger biscuits and also Ranbaxy's Revital. Now, he is Ambassador with Amitabh Bachchan for, Emami Healthy & Tasty, Himani Best Choice, and Rasoi.

Singing

He is also a good singer and sung many songs he was the singer of "Chaandi Ke Daal Par" with Alka Yagnik in Hello Brother in 1999. And sung four songs in Kick,"Hangover","Jumme Ki Raat Hai","Tu Hi Tu" and "Hai Yehi Zindagi". In 2015, he had sung the song "Main Hoon Hero Tera" in Hero.

His first movie with the lead role was a grand success and he got Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his movie. He was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actor for the film Karan Arjun in 1995. He won Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998 and nominated for many Filmfare up to 2017 including Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dabangg 2, Dabangg, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Also nominated for Bollywood Hungama Surfers Choice Movie Awards for Best Actor for the film Kick.
He had won two BIG Star Entertainment Awards, India in 2015, Most Entertaining Actor in a Social Role and Special Award for Most Entertaining Actor of The Year in the film Bajrangi Bhaijaan in 2015. He was nominated eight times for Awards of the International Indian Film Academy for his films Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Wanted, Bodyguard etc and won Special Award for Habitat Humanity Ambassadorship Award in 2010.
He had won National Film Awards, India for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment for the film Bajrangi Bhaijaan in 2016. In the year 2012, he won two People's Choice Awards India, which was Favorite Movie Actor and Favorite Action Movie Star for his film Ek Tha Tiger.
He was nominated two times in 2004 and 2005 for the Best Actor for Screen Weekly Awards and at last, won this award in 2011 for his film Dabangg. He won Star Box Office India Awards in 2014 for Mr. Moneybags and Stardust Awards, India as Star of the Year - Male for his excellent performance in the films Ready and Bodyguard. He won two The Ghanta Awards in 2012 and 2013 for Worst Actor for the films Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Bodyguard and Ready and was nominated in 2015 for the films Jai Ho and Kick.
He was nominated for Zee Cine Awards for Best Actor in 2004 and 2005 for the films Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Tere Naam and won this award in 2013 for the film Dabangg 2 and the Best Use of Social Media for the film Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2. In 2016, he won Zee Cine Awards for Best Actor for his most liked film Bajrangi Bhaijaan and for Sultan in 2016.

He was sentenced to jail for five years on 10 April 2006 as he was guilty of shooting two blackbucks in village Konkani in Jodhpur but thousand of prayers helped him to gets the bail on 13 April.
He was also arrested on the charge of having a connection with underworld mafia as he was a good friend of Bharat S. Shah who had link with the underworld.
He was also involved in another case in which he was driving his white Toyota Land Cruiser there was an accident at American Express Bakery at Hill Road, Bandra in which one person was killed and four were injured and he was again sentenced to five years jail and he got 48 hour relief with an interim bail but his trouble multiplied when on the third day when he was booked under provisions of IPC, Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949, and the Mumbai Police invoked on him section 304-II of IPC which leads to a punishment of 10 years. According to an eyewitness, he was heavily drunk and driving rashly. His driver said that he was driving the car at the time of the accident but he was arrested for making a false statement but after the death of the prime witness Police Constable Ravindra Patil, he was discharged from all the charges due to lack of evidence.
He also had an affair with Aishwarya Rai who was Miss World in the year 1996. Rai's parents lodged a complaint against Salman that he is threatening her after their breakup. However, her mobile recording was tested in the government's Forensic lab in Chandigarh and it was concluded that the tape was fake.
