American actor Robert Ayres was born in Michigan, the US on 11 December 1914 and died on 5 November 1968 in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England due to a heart attack. Most of the time he lived in Britain and also worked from there. Some of his best work was in the movies A Night to Remember, John Paul Jones and The Wedding of Lilli Marlene.
