Early Life of Max Baer Jr.
He was a student of Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento. He was the son of boxing champion Max Baer. He was good at sports and won junior title at the Sacramento Open golf tournament two times while he was in school. He acted in Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the Blackpool Pavilion when he was twelve years old. He graduated from Santa Clara University with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Acting
He started his career by appearing in television series like Maverick, Surfside 6, Hawaiian Eye, Cheyenne, The Roaring 20s, and 77 Sunset Strip. In 1962, he became a cast member of The Beverly Hillbillies and it was the best part of his acting career. His character was Jethro Bodine, Jed Clampett's cousin's son. He regularly takes other roles for the period of nine years of The Beverly Hillbillies and also appeared in other television programmes such as Vacation Playhouse and Love, American Style and A Time for Killing. He has guest appeared in many television programmes in 1971.
After that, he joined motion pictures to work as a writer, producer, and director. He was writer and producer of Macon County Line and also played the part of Deputy Reed Morgan in 1974. In the following year, he played the role of Culver Robinson in The Wild McCullochs, he was also a writer, producer, and director of this film. He produced and direct film Ode to Billy Joe in 1976. Following the success of Ode to Billy Joe whose title was based on the popular hit song, the motion picture industry has produced more than 100 movies whose title is on the song. He was director of comedy Hometown U.S.A. which was released in 1979. He reprised his role as Jethro in 1993 television special The Legend of the Beverly Hillbillies.
