About Macklyn Arbuckle
Macklyn Arbuckle was the elder brother of Andrew Arbuckle and also he was born in San Antonio, Texas, US on July 9, 1866.He was an American stage and film actor and started his work from the stage in the 1890s.He married actress Elizabeth Sheldon Carlisle on June 29, 1903, in Newton, Massachusetts. They do not have any child.He died at the age of 64 in Waddington, New York on April 1, 1931.
Career of Macklyn Arbuckle
He started his career at the age of 30 from the stage. His first Broadway play was Why Smith Left Home in 1899. Some of his successful Broadway plays were The County Chairman (1903), The Round-Up (1907) with Julia Dean. In 1914, he started making silent movies and the film was Adolph Zukor's Famous Players Film Company which make him a Broadway star. He establishes San Antonio Moving Pictures Corporation in May 1919. This company makes four films before shutting down in 1922 which were Mr. Bingle, Mr. Potter of Texas, Welcome to Our City and Squire Phin. In 1914, he worked in the film The County Chairman as The Honorable Jim Hackler. In 1915, he acts in two films as Hi Judd and Art Hoke in It's No Laughing Matter and The Reform Candidate. In 1917, his film was National Red Cross Pageant and the name of the character was Baron Fitz-Walter. In 1919 his performance was seen in Fighting Mad. 1922 was a busy year for him as he worked in six films which are Squire Phin, Welcome to Our City, The Prodigal Judge, Mr. Potter of Texas, The Young Diana, Mr. Bingle and his character were 'Squire Phin', Jim Scott, Judge Slocum Price, Mr. Potter of Texas, James P. May. He was P.T. Barnum in Broadway Broke which was released in 1923. The two films in 1924 were Yolanda (1924) as Bishop La Balue, Janice Meredith as Squire Meredith. The films The Thoroughbred, That Old Gang of Mine and Lure of the Track were released in 1925. In 1926, there was only one film The Gilded Highway as Jonathan Welby.
