He joined the acting industry in the year 1981 and played small roles in the films like Cutter's Way and Waitress!. He gained popularity with his character Mike Logan which he played in the legal drama "Law & Order". He also gained recognition with his appearance in the television series "S*x and the City" playing Big. He also worked in films such as Double Whammy, Elsa & Fred, White Girl, and A New York Christmas Wedding. He joined the cast of the television series "The Equalizer" as William Bishop in 2020.
