About Historic Centre of Shakhrisyabz
The historic Centre of Shakhrisyabz is a part of the city of Shakhrisyabz in Uzbekistan. The city is located at a height of 622 meters. It was founded in about the 6th century BC. It was a major city in Central Asia at its peak. Also, Sogdiana used it as an important urban center at the time of the Achaemenid Empire of Persia. Earlier it was called Kesh or Kish and was identified with the ancient Nautaca. It became a World Heritage Site in 2000 and was put on the danger list in 2016.
