Coro is a city located in the Falcon State of Venezuela. It is the capital of the state and is on the second rank among the oldest cities in Venezuela. The city was originally named Santa Ana de Coro when it was founded by Juan de Amples in July 1527. The city and its port are included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1993 and became a World Heritage Site in Danger in 2005 due to the heavy rainfall it received which caused severe damage to various structures.
