About Shri Radha Madan Mohan Temple
Shri Radha Madan Mohan Ji Temple is an old temple located on the bank of Yamuna River on Parikrama Marg in Brindaban. It is estimated to about 5000 years old. The place is believed to be the childhood playground of Lord Krishna and has witnessed several miracles of Shri Krishna, including assassination of several Daityas. The temple is devoted to Lord Krishna alongside Radha and Lalita gopi. There is no entry fee for the temple. It opens at 7:00 am and closes at 12:00 in morning in winter, while in summers morning timings are from 6:00 am to 11:00 am. Evening timings of winters from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, while in summers it opens at 5:00 pm and closes at 9:30 pm.

The temple is located close to the famous Banke Bihari Temple of Vridavan and is easy to access using any means of transport available.

If you prefer a train journey, then you can take any train going to Mathura station. After reaching there, you can take a taxi or an autorickshaw for Vrindavan and reach the temple easily.

You can take a bus for Vrindavan or Mathura and after reaching there take any convenient means of transport to access the temple.

Some Lesser Known Facts About Shri Radha Madan Mohan Temple

  • The temple is located at a height of 50-feet close to Kaliya Ghat where Lord Krishna had an encounter with Kaliya nag.
  • According to the locals, this temple is about 5000 years old. It is said that the temple was made by great-grandson of Lord Krishna-Vajranabh himself. The deity was lost with the passage of time, which was later on discovered at the base of an old banyan tree by Advaita Acharya.
  • Historians also say that the original idol was shifted to Jaipur at the time Aurangzeb invaded Mathura and Vrindavan temples. It was later on shifted to Karauli which is currently present in Madan Mohan Temple of Karauli, Rajasthan. A replica of original deities was installed in this temple in 1748 AD.
