Six Flags Magic Mountain is known as the "Thrill Capital of the World,". It was also voted by USA TODAY readers as America?s Best Theme Park. The reason being for its popularity is its thrilling rides. It is the best place for that adrenaline rush and a day full of excitement.

- Spread over 260 acres, the theme park was opened in the year 1971. It was designed and built by the same corporation, Arrow Development Co, which built many of the attractions at Disneyland.

- There are more than 100 rides in all, for children as well as adults but the most famous of them are the roller coasters that provide a sense of thrill and a rush of excitement. It has the record of having the highest number of a roller coaster, which is 19.

- Visitors can experience a series of "world's first" rides including the first 4D coaster X2, the tallest and fastest looping coaster Full Throttle, and the first looping coaster the Great American Revolution. The CraZanity, broke a record as the world?s tallest pendulum ride, reaching as high as 17 stories in the air.

- The Showcase Theater, now renamed as Golden Bear Theater, was part of the original park and featured many famous performers including Barbra Streisand as the first of many.

- There are also character meet and greets hosted here. One can spot heroes from the Justice League like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman as well as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and the rest of their Looney Tunes pals.

- From 1971 to 1979, the theme park was named Magic Mountain and was independently owned. In 1979, the park was purchased by Six Flags, and it was renamed Six Flags Magic Mountain in 1980.

- "The Black Belt of Roller Coasters" also known as "Ninja" was opened in the year 1988. Built by Arrow Dynamics, it was the first suspended swing roller coaster on the West coast.
