About Mount Osore
The mount is well known for a Buddhist temple, pilgrimage, and an active volcano on it. The mount is situated in the Osore-zan Mountain Range in Japan. The temple on the mount is a pilgrimage destination and opened from 6 AM to 6 PM from May to October.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Mount Osore
- The lake of Osro mountain is said to be mid of earth and underworld.

- There is a high sulfur smell on the site maybe because of an active volcano.

- The Buddhist temple called Bodai-Ji is situated in a large volcanic crater. The site is thought to be haunted because Japanese mythology designated it as the gates to the underworld.
- The place is can be accessed by commercial transport train or bus and also by car as it is approximately a three-hour drive from Aomori station to Shimokita Hanto. But most of the visitors arrived by bus.
- The temple has a paid entrance up to 500 Yens. The best time is to visit the place in late July. There is also a summer festival every year in the month of July. The temple also offers lodging services for pilgrimage.
