Paradise Island or "hog island" as it was known for many years, is located near Nassau. It is a popular region and usually preferred by tourists for its water activities, sandy beaches and fine dining.

- The island runs across an area of 685 acres. The island has about 17 beautiful beaches with water ranging through every shade of blue.

- One of the more popular sites on the island is the Atlantis resort. It is an ocean-themed luxury resort. It boasts of water park rides, pools, beach, restaurants, walk-in aquarium and casinos. There are various accommodations available in different towers. The Coral Tower has 600 plus rooms, The Royal Tower contains the "Bridge Suite", which is considered one of the most expensive hotel rooms in the world.

- The island has had many distinct guests. Many movies have been shot here, like The Beatles film "Help!" and James Bond movie Casino Royale, the other woman, etc.

- It is the 11th largest island in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and was mostly developed in the 60s. There are many museums that reflect the history of the land, the culture and the arts.
