About Gough and Inaccessible Islands
Gough Island is a volcanic island situated in South Atlantic Ocean. It comes under the Tristan da Cunha group. It is about 400 kilometers away from Nightingale Island and Inaccessible Island. The island is about 13 kilometers long and 7 kilometers wide making a total area of 91 kilometers of the island. It was discovered by British mariner Captain Charles Gough in 1732 that?s why got its name. The highest point of the island is Edinburgh Peak which is about 910 meters high.
