About East Rennell
East Rennell is a part of Rennell Island situated in Solomon Island. It became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1998. The area protected covers 37000 hectares. The area is important as it is the largest raised coral atoll all over the world. It is located in the Western Pacific. It was included in the list of World Heritage Sites in Danger in 2013 due to a threat of logging activities.

- The Lake Tegano which follows around the site is home to numerous endemic species. These species includes silver-capped fruit doves, Crocker's sea snake, green pygmy birds and more.
