Once used as a private home, the building today is a famous luxury hotel in Latin America. Its 19th-century charm, luxury comfort, and colorful cuisine attract visitors from different parts of the world. It is, like most hotels in the region, very colonial and is surrounded by many attractions at a close distance in the city. It is also one of the most haunted sites in Zacatecas.

- The hotel was meant to be used as a private house, built in the early 18th century. Later, it would be used as a hostel for merchants and businessmen who?d come to the city for work. The building today is part of the old house, renovated and capitalized.
- The hotel owes its name to the ex-owner of the barrio, Don Jobito. It is preserved by the government which is why many of the balconies and the terrace have that colonial, authentic look to them. It was also used as a horse stable before being converted to a public hotel in the year 1993.
- The hotel is set up in an old barrio and the old street is turned into a courtyard. The site is said to be haunted by many spirits. One of these is the ghost of a man named Jobito. He was once a landlord of the barrio, his home is today a suite, room 107. You may stay there if you wish, the front desk will happily oblige.
- Guests have regularly reported strange, unexplained occurrences. Reports of hearing children jumping and shouting have come to light. While it may be normal during the day, it is a different story at night, when there are no children nearby.
