About Har Ki Pauri
Har Ki Pauri is the most popular tourist destination in India. It is a ghat located in the holy city of Haridwar beside the river Ganga. Thousands of pilgrims visit the place to take the holy bath. The name of the area consisted of the words “Har” which means Lord Vishnu and “Pauri” which means “Steps”, the whole name meant to be the steps of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Lord Vishnu visited the place during the Vedic times. The site remains open throughout the year and 24 hours a day. No fee is charged by the authority to visit the place, even the changing rooms are available free of cost for the female pilgrims. However, visitors can donate the money if they want to.

How To Reach Har Ki Pauri
As the place is the most important tourist place, visitors can reach here easily taking any local means of transport.

Air
The nearest airport to the place is Jollygrant Airport. From there you can take a taxi to Haridwar and reach the destination comfortably.

Train
Several trains are available which take you to the Haridwar station. After leaving your train, you can take a cycle rickshaw or auto-rickshaw which will leave you at Bhimghoda as rickshaws are not allowed after there. After a short walk, you will reach your desired destination.

Bus
Bus service is also a convenient means to reach the place. The same procedure is to be followed after reaching the Haridwar bus stand as after getting Railway Station.
