The egg hill church is the subject of much speculation, of an alleged murder-suicide. Rumor has it, that a pastor of the church killed all his parishoners after communion and then later hung himself. - The Egg Hill Church is a historic site, built in 1860, in Potter Township, Pennyslvania. It is a single-story building, which now remains abandoned.
- It was the first evangelical church constructed in 1860, on the same foundation, after the original structure burned down.
- The story goes, that the new minister soon appeared to be deranged and disheveled. His sermons were decaying in quality, his robes not ironed. When it came time for communion, he passed around the sacred meal, which was laced with poison.
- Services at the church were suspended in the year 1927. Although little evidence has been found to support the legend, it still remains a place of major attraction.
- The legend goes, that after killing his entire congregation,the minister disposed of the remains in the woods nearby. Other conflicting stories say that only the children were the victims of abuse, and killed in the playground outside.
