St. Petersburg is a port city located in the Baltic Sea. It was founded by Peter the great in the year 1703 and remains the major cultural centre in Russia. The Obvodny Canal is among the many popular sites to visit here. It is a man-made canal infamous for being a hotbed of paranormal activities. it is also known by a more creepy name, Suicide Canal.

- The Obvodny Canal is the longest man-made canal in Russia. It runs about 8 km long and flows from the Neva River. It is significant for its hydro-technical facility and also, acts as a waterway between the upper port and upper Neva.
- St. Petersburg was one of the most affected cities during the WW II. It is often said that the city is cursed for the series of unfortunate events that took place in its history. The city was set to become the new capital but it was stripped off the title in the 20th century.
- The fact of the Canal being used as a city border for more than a century, adds to the dark, sinister stories around it. During its construction, the workers often complained of unexplained pain in their bodies and aggressive headaches. In extreme cases, some of them ended up killing each other for no apparent reason. These outbursts of violence were never explained and yet the construction continued.
- Upon digging further, workers discovered granite plates, which were probably ancient tombs. The archaeologists were denied time to study them and the workers were ordered to destroy the plates and continue working. Soon after this incident, the suicides began. The Borovsky bridge which would later be dubbed "Suicide bridge" was the place where the workers were engaged.
- People and sometimes even construction workers took to jumping into the water and drowned themselves. Some claim even infant children were thrown into the water and killed. Some of those who failed, when later questioned, couldn't explain why they jumped. Some of them felt overpowered or compelled while others claimed they were pushed by a "force".
- Even today, there are reported suicides on the Canal every 10 years. Paranormal experts fail to gather "evidence" or explain the phenomenon. Parents often forbid children from visiting the canal and to avoid the route after dark.
