Sydney Harbour Bridge is a through type arch bridge made of steel between the Sydney central business district and the north shore. The bridge carries rail, pedestrian, vehicular and rail. It was opened in March 1932 and constructed by Dorman Long & Co. The bridge is maintained by Roads and Maritime Services. The bridge has a total length of 1,149 meters.

- The bridge has a nickname 'The Coathanger' due to its arch-based design and it is also widely known as an iconic image of Sydney, Australia.
- It has two-track rail tracks 1500 V DC overhead.
- It took nine years to construct the bridge. The construction was initiated on 28 July 1923 and completed in early 1932.
- The idea of building a bridge actually came in early 1815.
- At the time of opening the bridge on 19 March 1932 while an Australian politician named Jack Lang was about to cut the ribbon, a man in military uniform came on horse and slashed the ribbon with his sword. The man was arrested by the police.
