Khajjiar lake


Khajjiar lake is a beautiful travel destination with water bodies, green surroundings and with mesmerizing views of Himalayas is perfect for an outing. The place is nicknamed as Miss Switzerland of India. Here you can enjoy paragliding and horse riding. The sparkling view of the lake from above leave you spell bound. Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary


If you are interested in wildlife and want to know about flaura and fauna of the place, Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary could be your next best location. The forest covers an area of over 19 square kilometers with dense deodar and fir trees where you can have a look at Himalayan Black Bear, Ghoral, Leopard, Serow and Himalayan Fox. The area is just 6 kilometers away from Dalhousie. Birdwatchers can find Black Headed Jay, Kaleej Pheasant, Himalayan Monal and Eurasian Jay. Ravi River which flows in between the sanctuary adds to the beauty of the place.

Laxminarayan Mandir


Laxminarayan Mandir is a beautiful temple dedicated to goddess Laxmi and Vishnu located in Chamba. The temple is one of the top tourist destinations in Chamba. Thala Waterfall


Thala Waterfall is another jewel in the treasure of Chamba. It is just 100 meters away from Thala Bridge and 9 kilometers from Bharmour. Sui Mata Temple


Sui Mata Temple is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Chamba. The temple is over ten decades old and according to the story is dedicated to Queen Sunayana who buried herself alive to please the God and bring rain to the kingdom. It is said that the kingdom never faced shortage of water after her sacrifice. The temple hosts an annual fair in April and May to pay homage to the Queen.

Chamunda Devi Temple


Chamunda Devi Temple is located on the bank of river Baner. As the name suggests, the temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. Kali is named as such as she killed both Chanda and Munda demons. It was constructed during the reign of Raja Umed Singh in 1762 and the devotees had to cross 400 steps cut out of a tone pathway to reach the temple. But now there is a 3 kilometers long concrete road to reach the temple. There is also a cave-like structure behind the temple, which is said to be a symbol of Lord Shiva.

Hadsar Waterfall


Hadsar is popular for being base camp from where famous Manimahesh Yatra starts. It is located in Bharmour near Chamba. A beautiful waterfall adds to the beauty of the place. It is a quiet tourist spot and fills the travelers with excitement to start their journey to Manimahesh lake.

Manimahesh Lake


Manimahesh lake is situated at an elevation of 4080 meters in Pir Panjal Range of Himalayas. It comes under Bharmour subdivision of Chamba. The peak of the mountain shines bright like a jewel on full moon night according to the belief and the place is named as Mani Mahesh means jewel of Lord Shiva. You have to trek about 13 kilometers to reach the place, however, a helicopter ride to the lake is also available. There are many stunning views of the mountains on the way. According to the legend, Lord Shiva created the place as his marital home with Goddess Parvati and devotees believes that Shiva still lives here.

Chamera Dam


Chamera Dam is a dam made on River Ravi in the town of Dalhousie, Chamba. The location attracts a lot of tourists due to a number of water fun activities like paddle boating, sailing, kayaking, river rafting and canoeing. You can also spend some quiet time in house boats. The place is surrounded by tranquil mountains and is quite photogenic. A number of birds visit the place due to presence of water bodies. The place is perfect for nature lovers and bird watchers.

Bhalei Mata Temple


Bhalei Mata Temple is a beautiful temple dedicated to Goddess Bhadra located at a distance of 40 kilometers from Chamba and 30 kilometers from Dalhousie. The temple is popular for idol being perspiring after it is recovered after being stolen by antique thieves. According to the popular believe that the diety herself came in dream of Raja Pratap Singh and told him to construct a temple at the site.
