Taylor Swift recently performed at a show in Houston, Texas where she showed an old version of herself the L sign. Many fans think it was a dig at Joe Alwyn. Taylor is currently in Houston, performing for three nights straight during her Eras Tour.
During her Era Tours, the star performed her hit song "Look What You Made Me Do" and confronted a version of herself from the era when she released her album, "Lover." In the performance, one of the dancers stood out in a pink fur outfit, which harkens back to her look from the "You Need to Calm Down" music video. The song was featured on Lover.
As the singer performed "Look What You Made Me Do", she walked up to the dancer who was dressed in the pink fur stole, and showed her an "L" shaped out of her thumb and pointing finger. The "L" sign is seen as an insult, as it means the other person is a 'loser'.
A Twitter user wrote, "Taylor doing the loser sign at lover is concerning? JOE ALWYN YOU WILL PAY FOR IT." While sharing the video of Taylor doing the loser sign, another user tweeted, "It's true lol she's so unserious."
Interestingly, the "Lover" album contains various songs that point to the romance between Swift and Alwyn. A few of these songs include London Boy, Cornelia Street, and Paper Rings. Due to the unexpected gesture Swift made during her Houston show, many fans are decrypting this as a connection to her breakup with Alwyn.
Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn
Swift and Alwyn reported breakup has left fans shocked and devastated. For now, neither Swift nor Alwyn has released any statement on the much-talked news. However, in the recent show, fans have noted specific performance selections by Swift during her Eras Tour. All these things have left them even more curious.
It should also be noted that reportedly, the singer has made the "L" gesture on her forehead for other album eras including Red and Fearless too. Citing this, the real meaning of that gesture stays not clear to fans at the moment.
In addition to her L sign, Taylor had a very unexpected surprise song for the show. If you are unaware, the singer likes to include two surprise songs in her setlist for every show. In her latest show, she performed "You're Not Sorry" from her 2008 album Fearless. The track is about a terrible former lover and a bad breakup.
In addition to this fuzz, it is also noted that Ryan Reynolds, Gigi Hadid, and the Haim sisters who are close friends with Taylor have recently unfollowed Joe Alwyn on Instagram.
