There are several lakeside destinations as well as beach where you can spend quality family time or can hang out with friends. Some of the popular beaches and lakeside destinations in the city are:

Juhu Beach


Juhu beach is popular as Juhu Chopati beach and is one of the most visited travel destinations in Mumbai. The beach is surrounded by Versova in the west, Vile Parle to the east and Santacruz to the south in the addition to Arabian Sea in the west side of beach. The beach is also a popular location for immersing the idols at the end of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. It is also popular for its street foods like bhelpuri, pani puri and sev puri.

Kalamb Beach


Kalamb Beach is located at Nalasopara West in Palghar District near Nirmal Village. The beach is not so crowded unlike Juhu Chopati beach. You can spend peace time here watching sea waves colored orange in the sunset. The place is also an ideal location for joggers in morning for being quite which provide good vibes to make your day the best.

Marve Beach


Marve Beach is the popular beach in Mumbai, located in Malad. The beach is also a base location for taking Ferry Services for Essel World and Water Kingdom Amusement Parks. The movement on this beach is restricted due to presence of Indian Naval base. Though the beach is not safe for swimming but you can enjoy fishing at the location.

Powai Lake


Powai Lake is an artificial lake in the Powai valley of the Mumbai. Premier Science and Technology Institution, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is located at the east of this lake. The lake is located close to Kurla, Andheri, and Santa Cruz and is an important tourist attraction.

Tulsi Lake


Tulsi Lake is a fresh water lake located in Northern Mumbai. It is the second-largest lake and is also a source of potable water supplied in the city. The lake is located in dense forest of Sanjay Gandhi National Park. It was built by making a dam on River Tasso. The lake is inhabited by fresh water crocodiles. A Crocodile Park is set up to view crocodiles of different sizes.

Vihar Lake


Vihar Lake is located inside the dense forest of Borivali National Park close to Vihar village in North Mumbai. The lake is filled by Mithi River and also supplies drinking water like Tulsi Lake. The lake was featured in a number of Bollywood films before the access was denied to general public since March 1993.

Bandra Talao


Bandra Talao is also popular as Swami Vivekanand Talao among Mumbaikars. It is situated in Bandra location of Mumbai. It is just five minutes walk from bandra railway station. This small water body surrounded by palm trees is an ideal location to spend weekend with family and friends.
