The city is inhabited by people of various castes and several festivals are celebrated here but still Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most famous festival celebrated here. You can see decoration and lightings in about every street of Mumbai and the temples like LalBagh Ka Raja, and Siddhivinayak Temple are crowded with devotees at the time of Ganesh Utsav. The city also owns a number of religious destinations without visiting there your trip to Mumbai is incomplete.

Siddhivinayak Temple


Siddhivinayak Temple is a popular temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh and his wife Siddhi situated in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was built by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil in November 1801. The images of ashtivinayak are carved in the pillars of the temple. The exterior of the temple looks so incredible in the evening when lit up with different colors of light.

Mahalaxmi Temple


Mahalaxmi Temple is an important temple located in the city of Mumbai. The temple is dedicated to Mahalakshmi. It is just one kilometres away from Mahalakshmi railway station and close to Tryambakeshwar temple and Mahadev dhakleshwar temple. Though the temple is visited by lots of devotees all over the year, but crowd double itself during Navaratri celebration.

Haji Ali Dargah


Haji Ali Dargah is well-known mosque and dargah containing the tomb of Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhaari. This dargah is an important landmark located close to the heart of Mumbai City. The dargah is visited by several devotees to get his blessings. Sometimes, there are also events are organised where a number of Sufi musicians performs Qawwali at the place.

Global Vipassana Pagoda


Global Vipassana Pagoda is one of the largest meditation hall located in north-western part of Mumbai. It has a sitting capacity of about 8000 meditators at a time. It was inaugurated by then President of India, Pratibha Patil. It was made on a donated land and is made in Burmese design to thanking the country for preserving the art of Vipassana.

Mount Bandra Church


Mount Bandra Church is an important church located in Bandra of Mumbai, Maharashtra. The church is also popular with the names Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount Bandra and Mount St. Mary Church. The church welcomes lakhs of tourist and devotees each year. The church also organizes annual feast after which there is also a week-long carnival is organised in Konkan region.
