It has been reported that Anil Arora, the father of Malaika Arora, allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday morning by plunging from the sixth floor of a residential building located in Bandra, Mumbai. Senior police officers and the actor's ex-husband Arbaaz Khan were spotted at her home. The body has been sent for a post-mortem, and an investigation is reportedly ongoing. According to reports, the event happened at their family's home, Ayesha Manor in Bandra West, Mumbai, at around 10.30 am.
However, Malaika's close associates asserted that it was an accident. "There was an accident. When we have the police panchanama, we will share it with you," they said.
When Malaika was eleven years old, her parents, Joyce Polycarp and Anil Arora, divorced. Malaika Arora talked candidly about her connection with her parents and a life experience that had a profound effect on her and her younger sister, Amrita, who was six at the time, in a previous interview with Filmfare. Malaika disclosed that their mother bore the primary responsibility for their upbringing. She remarked, "I had a wonderful childhood, but it wasn't easy," thinking back on those formative years. In hindsight, I would actually characterize it as turbulent. However, difficult circumstances also impart valuable lessons.
Malaika attributes her strong work ethic and understanding of the value of financial independence to her mother. "The divorce of my parents gave me the opportunity to see my mother from a fresh and different perspective. I gained a strong work ethic and understood the importance of rising early every day and doing everything it takes to develop ferocious independence. The foundation of both my personal and professional journeys are those early lessons. She said, "I still value my freedom and live life on my terms. I am fiercely independent."
