In a viral TikTok making, Liam leaked that there has been a new One Direction group chat made in recent days. Post the Tiktok, fans are convinced that this could indicate that a potential reunion is on its way. In the TikTok, Liam is asked: "So when are we gonna see you [One Direction] back together?" Payne said, "Urgh, I don't know, but we just started a new group chat. So."
Liam then pointed at the camera and shrugged as the reporter chimed in, adding, "Hey, you heard this, man. 1D is back soon." The singer then is then seen rubbing his hands together and raising his eyebrows and has a mischievous look on his face while he glances at the camera.

Soon after the video was shared on TikTok and One Direction fans absolutely lost it on social media, with many praying that this was a sign that the former band, made up of Liam, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson, reunite. Flocking to the comment section, longstanding fans have shared their reaction to the video. "Are the stars aligned for a One Direction reunion? wth is going on," tweeted one superfan. Another added, "I'm praying for the boys to reunite one last time. I need this," as a third chimed in, adding, "I love knowing the boys have a group chat going again. Nature is healing." Another Tweeted "If One Direction reunites, I genuinely think I will cry. We've waited so long."

It comes a few weeks after Watermelon Sugar singer Harry Styles confessed that he "would never say never to a reunion with the boys." Harry starred on James Corden's final The Late Late Show a few weeks back, and after being quizzed about a reunion, he replied, "I think I would never say never to that. If there was a time when we wanted to do it, I don’t see why we wouldn't."
