The actor is the frontman of the band MOTHXR. In an interview with Cosmo, he revealed that he initially created the band as a passion project with a few close mates. MOTHXR released its first album in 2016, and since then, the band has performed all over the globe.

2. He once dated his co-star, Blake Lively:
The actor was in a relationship with his former co-star Blake Lively, with whom he was apparently home-schooled. According to various sources, the You star and Lively were together for almost three years from 2007 to 2010 while filming "Gossip Girl." Reports suggest that their breakup was not known by anyone on the set until the season two finale of the series. He's now married to musician Domino Kirke.

3. He has penned a song for all his Exs:
In an interview with Elle in 2013, the actor disclosed that he had penned a song for every woman he's ever been with. At the time, he was dating actress Zoe Kravitz. He hasn’t shared the lyrics of any song, but he compares the pieces with a sprawling meditation on love.

4. Badgley wasn't sure about playing Joe on "You":
Can you imagine anyone else in the role of Joe Goldberg, we honestly can’t but there was a time Penn was conflicted with the nature of the role? He told Entertainment Weekly after the show's first season was released, "I didn't want to do it — it was too much. I was conflicted with the nature of the role." It was the creators who made it possible, they thought he'd be great for the part as it was important for the viewers to grasp Joe's humanity.

5. Origin of his Name:
Sources have reported that his name has a unique story behind it, when the actor was just a fetus on ultrasound, his father was nervously squeezing a tennis ball while watching the blimp.
