Following the allegation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and other well-known faces, Mallikarjun Kharge is now on BJP’s Target as the party alleged him for taking about 19 acres of government land which was transferred to a trust which is run by his family.

According to recent media news BJP Rajya Sabha member Lahar Singh Siroya claimed that 19 Acres of government land in Kalaburagi was given to the International Institutre of Pali, Sanskrit, and Comparative Philosophy free of cost in March 2017 by Congress government led by then CM Siddaramaiah.

Siroya clarified that at first 16-acre land was given for lease of 30 years in March 2014. Two years later three acres was also transferred while in March 2017, it was given to the trust free of cost. He added that the trust members include Kharge’s wife, his two sons and son-in-law, Radhakrishan who is also secretary of the Pali Institute. While Kharge’s son Priyank Kharge is cabinet minister who was also minister at the time property was transferred.

Siroya added that he have been abused and targeted for pointing out the use of power and nepotism by Kharge family.

For the allegation Priyank Kharge replied that the land was leased to the Pali Insitute and will remain government property. He also said that the buildings of the institute was used by the government at the time of COVID-19 pandemic and other government purposes. He also said that the institure is affliated with Karnataka Sanskrit University, and is governed by a council including scholars and officials.

He added that the proposal of the institute was first made by formet President Pranab Mukherjee while the formal announcement was made in Union Budger 2012-2013.
