All the Indians were filled with pride when India became the first country to land on the South pole. And after reading this you will be definitely be more proud to be an Indian when you come to know that cost of Mission Chandrayaan was comparatively much lower than Luna 25 even it is less than Hollywood film Interstellar. The cost of India’s successful mission was just 75 million dollars while the cost of Russia’s Luna-25 which failed to do soft landing was 200 million dollars. Even the film “Interstellar” was made with a budget of 165 million dollars.

A well-known media company shared a tweet comparing the cost of Chandrayaan with the film Interstellar to which twitter chief Elon Musk applauded and replied Good for India with an emoji of Indian flag.

If you are surprised that how ISRO managed to make this at such a low cost, then there is an explanation here:

Chandrayaan-3 used Earth’s gravity and did multiple revolution around planet and then around the moon to slow down and it took 40 days to cover this journey before finally slow down and land on moon. While Luna 25 was a powerful rocket which was designed to complete the journey in just ten days, however, it failed to land on the surface of the moon.
