Box office failure for 'Adipurush' leaves no hope for revival

According to early estimates, 'Adipurush' collected Rs 6 crore only on day 10 (Sunday) and is struggling to revive itself. It will be difficult for 'Adipurush' to recover its large budget of approximately Rs 500-600 crore.

In terms of box office returns, Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, fell far short of expectations. On its opening day, Adipurush earned a staggering Rs 140 crore worldwide. However, the film has fallen flat to Rs 5.5 crore in just seven days. Adipurush earned around Rs 5.5 crore at the box office on Thursday in all languages, according to reports. Despite the makers altering certain controversial dialogues amid backlash, the film's box office earnings continue to slump.

This brings the total domestic collections of the film to Rs 260.55 crore in all languages. However, its production house T-Series reports that Adipurush grossed over Rs 410 crore worldwide. Taran Adarsh, the film trade analyst, reported that Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan's Zara Hatke Zara Bachke had a better-than-expected 20th-day collection as we see a downfall in the collection of Adipurush.

The makers of Adipurush announced on Wednesday that tickets for Thursday and Friday shows will be reduced to Rs 150. Following a growing backlash against Adipurush, the film's box office collection plunged on Monday and Tuesday. There has been severe criticism of Adipurush for allegedly altering the characters and themes of the Hindu epic Ramayana.

In addition to altering several controversial lines in the film, the makers have also revised the script. The audience was especially bitter about the Lanka Dahan scene, where Bajrangbali's character is heard saying the line, "Tel tere baap ka. Aag bhi tere baap ki. Aur jalegi bhi tere baap ki" to Meghnad. However, the lines have now been altered in the new prints. The word 'baap' has now been changed to 'Lanka'. Though, there is no way these alterations are going to revive the movie now.
