The British actor Rupert Friend, who starred in Wes Anderson's Asteroid City, will be in the next Universal Pictures film Jurassic World, which will also star Jonathan Bailey and Scarlett Johansson.

The creature feature, which also features Manuel Garcia-Rulfo on the call sheet, is being directed by Gareth Edwards. The narrative for the newest installment was written by Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park's original author, David Koepp. The specifics of the plot are being kept under wraps like a can of Barbasol.

In anticipation of a mid-June London production start, the project is casting ferociously. Universal has scheduled a July 2, 2025, theatrical premiere, so post-production will need to move quickly.

Vice President of Production Development Executive The project is being managed by Sara Scott and Jacqueline Garell, a creative executive of production development for the company.

Thanks to roles in Asteroid City and The French Dispatch, Friend has emerged as a vital member of the Anderson Thespian company in recent years. He now appears in The Swan and The Rat Catcher, two of Anderson's four shorts that are based on Roald Dahl short stories. You may watch the shorts on Netflix.

After wrapping Zach Cregger's sci-fi thriller Companion for New Line, the actor—who previously starred opposite Ewan McGregor as the wicked Grand Inquisitor on the Star Wars Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi—will next be seen opposite Jessica Chastain in Michel Franco's upcoming drama Dreams.
