72 Hoorain is an Indian film set to release in theaters on 7th of July in 2023. The film won ICFT-UNESCO GANDHI MEDAL Special Mention when it premiered on 2019 International Film Festival of India (IFFI). It also earned National Film Award for Best Direction to its director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. The film will be released in ten regional languages including Assamese, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Kannada, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu in addition to Hindi and English. The film unmask the myth of 72 Hoorain concept used by terrorist organizations to brainwash the youth to become a suicide bomber. Take a look on its trailer.
Criticism
The film was opposed by several Muslim religious leaders to hurt the sentiments of Islamic communities. There are also rumors that film will not be released in theatres as it has not got certificate from Central Board of Film Certification. Also, the film was slated to release in theatres on 28 June 2023 despite the movie has already got 'A' certification due to some misleading reports. But now the makers of the film are all set to release the film on theatres.
Cast
Aamir Bashir
Aamir Bashir is a popular Indian actor and producer born and raised in Kashmir. His directorial debut film “Harud” won the National Award for the Best Urdu Feature Film. Being raises in Kashmir, Bashir clearly understand the tactics used by terrorist organizations to mislead the youth. It is expected that the actor would be able to bring out the truth in front of audience.
Rasheed Naz
Rasheed Naz was a Pakistani actor. He died in January 2022. The film is releasing posthumously after a year of his death. He worked in a number of films like Baby, Khuda Ke Liye, Verna and television shows like Khwab Saraye Manzil and Khushi Ek Roag in the forty years of his career.
Pavan Malhotra is an excellent actor who works in Hindi as well as Punjabi films. He is winner of several Filmfare awards and is expected to gain audience applaud with his superb acting style. He is known for his work in the National Award winning film Bagh Bahadure and Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro as well as Telugu blockbuster Aithe.
