Devprayag is a beautiful city located in New Tehri of Uttrakhand, India. It is one of the Panch Prayag of Alaknanda River. The city is the place where river Alaknanda coincides with Bhagirathi and two river meets to form Ganga river. The word “Devprayag” means “Godly Confluence” in Sanskrit. It is located on the Badrinath highway and is about 70 kilometers from Rishikesh. Confluence of Alaknanda and Bagirathi Rivers

Raghunathji Temple
Raghunathji Temple is located at the place of confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi river. The temple is dedicated to Lord Rama. The temple is also known as Tirukantamenum Kadi Nagar. The temple is believed to existed from the 10th century and is considered as one of the oldest shrines of Lord Rama. You can take blessings of Lord Rama alongside admiring the beauty of the place. The temple remains open from 5:00 am to 12 pm in summers while from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm in winters. The evening opening timings are 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm in summers and 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Chandrabadani Temple
Chandrabadani Temple is dedicated to Goddess Sati and is one of 51 Shakti peeth where body parts of Goddess Sati fell. The temple is located on Chandrakoot mountain. It is believed that the torso of the Goddess Sati fell at the place, while her weapons scattered all over the place. As the temple is situated at a height of 2277 meters above sea level, you can have a look of Garhwal Hills, Kedarthnath, Badrinath and Surkunda Peaks from this place. You can visit the temple anytime between 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Dashrathshila
Daashrathshila is one of the oldest temple that is believed to be from the period of Ramayana. According to the local people, Dashratha, the father of Lord Rama did penance at this place which gave the place its name. The shrine is located on the bank of river Shanta, which is also named on the name of Dashrath’s daughter Shanta. The temple is located on Dashrathachal peak.
Kyunkaleshwar Mahadev Temple
Kyunkaleshawar Mahadev as the name suggests is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and his wife Goddess Paravati. The temple has idols of Lord Ganesh and Kartikeya alongside Lord Shiva and parvati. The temple is believed to be from 8th century and is worth visiting with family during a visit to Devprayag. The temple is located near Alaknanda Valley in Pauri and could be visited between 6:00 am to 7:00 pm/ 8:00 pm.
