Today, we have something bittersweet for you. You know how we all eagerly await our favorite shows to return each fall? Well, not every show is making a comeback this year. So, grab your popcorn and let’s dive into the top ten popular shows that will NOT be returning to TV this fall!”

NCIS: Hawai’i

Alright, let’s kick this off with number 10 on our list. Number 10 is 'NCIS: Hawai’i.' In 2021, CBS debuted this police procedural show for the first time. It was an NCIS spin-off created by Matt Bosack, Jan Nash, and Christopher Silver. CBS made the decision in April not to extend the program for a fourth season.

President of CBS Entertainment Amy Reisenbach said in May that they had to make some difficult decisions and decided to prioritize the coherence of the schedule flow. The impromptu series finale debuted on May 6 and garnered the second-highest viewership of the third season.

CSI: Vegas

Moving on to number 9, and it might sting a bit. We’re talking about CSI: Vegas. Since its premiere on CBS in 2021, this criminal drama has garnered a lot of support from viewers. Anthony E. Zuiker's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation was being revived. CBS announced in April that it would not be renewing the show for any more seasons.

The last episode of Season 3, although an unexpected series conclusion, debuted on May 19. A scene at the end with the large serial killer was cut out. Remarkably, the series finale drew in the second-highest audience the station has ever had.

All American: Homecoming

Now at number 8, 'All American: Homecoming!' This sports drama, which Nkechi Okra Carroll created, made its CW debut in 2022. The All American spinoff program was given two further season renewals in May 2022 and a third renewal in June 2023.

On June 5, however, executive producer Caroll made it known that the third season would be the last one of the show and that no more episodes would be produced. She expressed her gratitude to her cast and crew for giving the audience a true taste of HBCU life. September 30 is when the show's series finale is supposed to air.

Magnum P.I

And at number 7... we come to Magnum P.I. Jay Hernandez played the title role of Magnum P.I., a former Navy SEAL turned private investigator who solved crimes in Hawaii, in the 1980s action drama of the same name. The sitcom was salvaged by NBC when CBS canceled it, but the network decided not to purchase a sixth season.

The show's last season attracted fewer viewers than anticipated, airing in two batches of ten episodes each. Nevertheless, the show's double-episode finale succeeded in drawing the largest audience it had ever had. On January 3, the show's last episode aired.

The Good Doctor

"At number 6, we have a hit medical drama… 'The Good Doctor.' After five enthralling seasons, this series won't be back until 2024 due to the pandemic and production delays. It’s a massive gap for fans craving those emotional cases that tug on our heartstrings."

David Shore developed The Good Doctor, a cherished medical drama based on the 2013 South Korean series of the same name. The ABC drama was able to draw enough viewers after seven seasons.

But executive producers Eric Gunn, Liz Friedman, and David Shore declared it was time to part ways. "We are incredibly proud of our work and the message we were privileged to be a part of," they stated in a joint statement. On May 21, 2024, the series finale aired.

Not Dead Yet

"Now number 5 is a true shocker for reality fans, 'Not Dead Yet' This sitcom was based on Alexandra Potter's Confessions of a Forty-Something F**k Up and was created by David Windsor and Casey Johnson. In 2023, it made its debut and was given a season extension in the same year.

But in May, ABC made the decision to end the program after just two seasons. When compared to other ABC scripted series, the second season of Gina Rodriguez's show had the lowest viewership, indicating that it was not doing well. On April 24, it broadcast its last episode.

So Help Me Todd

Alright, we’re in the top four now! Let’s break down 'So Help Me Todd'. Scott Prendergast wrote and directed this legal comedy-drama, which debuted in September 2022. It was directed by a private investigator who consented to work for his mother's legal practice. The program received a second season renewal in 2023.

After two seasons, CBS canceled the show on April 19. President of CBS Entertainment Amy Reisenbach then discussed the choice and stated that making such difficult decisions was a part of their work. On May 16, the show's finale aired.

Station 19

Coming in at number 3, we have 'Station 19'. Culled from the popular television series Grey's Anatomy, this action drama was written by Stacy McKee. After making its 2018 ABC debut, the show ran for seven seasons until being abruptly canceled.

ABC declared in December 2023 that it was ending the firefighting drama. Craig Erwic, president of Disney Television Group, offered his opinions and expressed gratitude to Betsy Beers and Shonda Rhimes for the story and characters. Sadly, the last episode of the show was the least watched when it aired on May 30.

Walker

At number 2... Walker. Starring Jared Padalecki, the 1990s western drama series Walker, Texas Ranger was brought back to life as a crime drama. Specially for The CW, Anna Fricke created it.

However, in May, word leaked out that The CW was canceling the show after four seasons. Padalecki responded to the news by saying that, despite the difficulty of hearing it, he was thankful for the family they had built, both on and off set. Its most watched show on the station was on June 26, when it was broadcast.

Young Sheldon

And the number 1 show that won’t be returning this fall… Young Sheldon. If you're a Big Bang Theory enthusiast, you've probably also adored and binge-watched Young Sheldon. Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro created this coming-of-age sitcom, which served as a spin-off and prequel to The Big Bang Theory. It centers on the adored child prodigy Sheldon Cooper, who lives with his family in East Texas during the 1980s and 1990s.

However, CBS said in November 2023 that the popular comedy series would be terminating after its seventh season. With nearly 9.3 million people, the season finale debuted on May 16 and became the third most watched entertainment show on television overall.
