Amanda Beard is an American swimmer. She was also called Amanda Brown which is her name after marriage. She won seven medals in Olympics includes Four silver, two gold, and one bronze. She made a world record in the 200-meter breaststroke. She eats only vegetarian food. She wrote one autobiography named 'In the Water They Can't See You Cry: A Memoir' on April 3, 2012.

She first appeared on 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta when she was 14 and there she won three medals which make her the second-youngest Olympic medalist. She received the bronze medal in Breaststroke at 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. She was selected in the four events at the Athens games while 2004 U.S. Olympic Swim Trials and break the record of 200-meter breaststroke. She also worked as a model and appeared in the 2006 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, FHM, and the July 2007 issue of Playboy magazine.

Two times she was named in the American Swimmer of the Year Award. In the international competitions, she won the 21 medals that include the three bronze, five gold, and thirteen silver. In Olympics, she won 7 medals.
