She was an American actress, theater director, dancer and entertainer, born on 13th January, 1925 in Richmond, Virginia, USA. She becomes the first actor and performers who gave her appearance on television and stage in the United States, and this happened that time when all venues were closed for African American actors. In 1955 she became the only black entertainer who was starred on CBS' The Phil Silvers Show. To gave her appearance on American television commercials she becomes the first lady who gave her appearance on a television commercial in the United States. She went to the New York to study acting and dancing. She was o fond of acting and dancing since her childhood. She was a huge follower of Opera and ballet dance. She got married two times, first, she got married to Duane H. Grant, Sr. they had two children, later she got married to Luther Henderson on 8th February 1981, they stay together till his death(29th July 2003).
